VIATRIX CAELI is a free, digital fanzine focusing on the relationship between Tartaglia "Childe" and Lumine of Genshin Impact, themed around the concept of yuanfen.
Out of billions of people in the world, you met with this one person; this is yuanfen. It refers to the idea that one’s karma defines the level of interaction between two individuals. It might not even be fate in romance; meeting someone by chance, striking up a conversation and realising you have lots in common with them means that you have good yuanfen with this other person. On the other hand, having weak yuanfen with another may mean that you were destined to meet them, but not to stay together.

Writers:
✦ Pieces will be a new standalone piece created for this zine.
✦ Word count: 1500 - 3000
✦ There will be a leeway of 250 words.
✦ Other characters may make an appearance in the piece, but Chilumi's relationship must be the focus.
Artists:
✦ Artworks will be newly created specifically for this zine.
✦ Single pages will be 8.5"x6", a spread will be 8.5"x12". Landscape pieces will be placed on a double spread.
✦ DPI: 300 minimum
✦ Color profile: RGB.
✦ Artworks will fully illustrated with color and a detailed background-- meaning that the background must depict a proper environment.
✦ For comics, a detailed background will not be necessary, but the comic must be lined and colored.
✦ Other characters may make an appearance in the piece, but Chilumi's relationship must be the focus.
Merch Artists:
✦ Artists will choose 2 options to create (or only 1, in the case of shimeji).
✦ Merch will be newly created specifically for this zine.

Mod Muwi — Layout, General
I'm muwi, a future Electro Lumine and Childe main. I'm mainly the layout mod for this zine but I'll also be shadowing Marge to pick up the ropes. I'm a publishing student with some non-zine experience working with text heavy layouts (and some SocMed experience too), so this is my first time sticking my foot through the zine door! Looking forward to learning and polishing some new tools!

I've been head mod and co-mod of several Haikyuu zines including the Yamakage Zine, Kageyama Zine, Yamaguchi Zine and TsukiKage Zine, where I was responsible for organization, beta-reading and sometimes social media.

Hi hi! I'm Anette/Az, graphic design is my passion (not) and I'm the graphics mod here. No zine experience yet, but I do mograph & graphic design professionally - plus a bit of pixel art/digital painting every now and then. I like picking up new interests, so this is an exciting opportunity! Super looking forward to simping for Chilumi with y'all!

✦ Tell us more about the zine.
This will be a SFW, free, digital zine that revolves around the yuanfen of Tartaglia and Lumine. Because yuanfen does not exclusively refer to romantic relationships, contributors can choose to depict their relationship as anything between that of friends and romantic partners. The final zine is expected to have a balance of both.
✦ Do all pieces need to adhere to the theme?
Yes. However, this theme was deliberately chosen because it can be freely interpreted by contributors. You may wish to play the theme straight, or base your piece on the angsty feelings of having weak yuanfen, or explore spiritual karmic side. Keep in mind that sexual content will not be permitted.
✦ Is there an age requirement for this zine?
All applicants must be 13+ as we will be primarily communicating on Discord.
✦ How many contributors will you have?
We have a total of 28 contributors!
✦ How will contributors be compensated?
As this is a free zine, contributors will not be monetarily compensated. However, contributors will be sent a high quality version of the zine and all merch.
✦ Will it just be about Tartaglia and Lumine?
Other characters are allowed to make an appearance so long as Tartaglia and Lumine's relationship remains the focus of your piece.
✦ Can we draw AUs or Chilumi in non-canon clothing?
Yes! But for the latter, we recommend choosing an aesthetic that is Liyue-esque (or Snezhnayan).
✦ What does NSFW mean exactly in our application guidelines?
NSFW includes general 18+ themes, including gore and excessive, explicit violence. For writers, we will include a question in our application forms that allow you to include disclaimers for any potentially triggering content.

✦ Comics are welcome in your portfolio, as long as it is at least lined and coloured.
✦ You do not need a Genshin piece in your portfolio or top three pieces.
Writers:
✦ Pieces must not be older than two years old.
✦ No NSFW pieces.
✦ Top three pieces must not exceed 9,000 words in total.
✦ Excerpts are allowed.

Participation Guidelines:
✦ You will not be able to share WIPs of your pieces on social media. You can share them on the zine's Discord, however.

✦ You may post your full pieces 2 weeks after the zine's launch.
✦ You will retain rights of your pieces after we've launched and are allowed to use your work however you wish.
